Club Trial Results

CLUB TRIAL - 3RD SEPTEMBER - MANNINGS HEATH Thanks to Team Jimmies for laying out, Harry Ross, John Yardley, Bob Collins & John Penfold.  Harry was there early on Sunday and looked quite worn out before he'd even started - but he often looks like that!! A good entry of 40 considering there was another trial on the same day, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
NEXT TRIAL - ROME WOODS - TEAM LAVERDOS

Club Trial Results

RESULTS CLUB TRIAL - 6th AUGUST - KINGSFOLD Thanks to Team Fantics (and a few others) , John Illingworth, Michael Hyden, Adrian Holloway for laying out. Despite the rain on Saturday it was reasonably dry and most people had good rides - certainly Ian Mac with clean on Yellows. Tim Dowling provided extra entertainment by going head first into the stream (apparently this is the second time, it happened before at Mannings Heath!)

Two Day Charity Camping Trial 1-2 July

HR CAMPING WEEKEND – 1 - 2 JULY

It’s our most popular event of the year when we also raise a lot for the Club's charity as all the takings after the AMCA costs go to charity. This year we are running "normal" trials on both days. you can ride either day & camping is not compulsory! Here are dates and details :

Friday 30th June
The gate at the top corner with Green Lane will be open in the afternoon.. Hopefully the hay will be out this year, but might be too damp - so bring shears/scythe to cut your pitch!   Bring with you your tents, water and tipple plus food especially for the barbecue. There’s a few jobs to be done like  collecting wood for the evening bonfire. There will be a site toilet available.

Saturday 1st July
09.30 Setting out the course for the Trial which starts about 1.30 pm. But before then you can hand in your contributory raffle prizes and get your arm twisted to spend excessively on tickets to win them back – it’s a terrible con but all in aid of a good cause!! Then there's the barbecue, slalom championship, possibly wee-skis and of course consuming the beer in front of the fire.

Sunday 2nd July
Is the day of the Sunday club trial starting at 10.30 am. Your arm will be twisted to buy even more raffle tickets, especially those not riding on Saturday. The draw will take place at lunchtime to allow winners to collect their prizes.

Later in the afternoon, it's time to clear up and help is always welcome. We do provide rubbish bins but these are really for the beer cans/bottles, not general rubbish which we would be grateful if you could take home with you.

Ian’s Charity walk report

Hi All
For the past few weeks I have been pounding the footpaths of the South Downs in preparation for my hike.
Yesterday was the day and I walked 26.7 miles from Brighton racecourse to Eastbourne. The weather was very kind, much better than was forecast at the beginning of the week. It was so poor that I went out and bought a new set of waterproofs. Thankfully they were not needed and we were able to enjoy all the great views on offer.
The hike itself was one of the hardest things I have ever done and I do not intend to repeat it. Having done around 17 miles you are faced with walking the Seven Sisters then, having done that you arrive at Birling Gap. Only 5 miles to go and you are effectively walking up steep hills almost all the way to the finish.
That said it was all about raising money for the Charity. Before we started we were told that over £400k has been raised and they predict once the outstanding pledges have been collected it will be over £900k. I have raised £1,250 to date and expect this to be nearer £1,400 when everything is in. I have to admit I am quite proud of this and all of you who donated should be too. Your generosity really gave me encouragement.
Some of you have pledged to help but have yet to make a donation, could I ask that you do so in the near future? As I understand it the Just Giving facility will remain open for some time yet. Equally if there are any of you out there who would like to donate details of the just giving page follow or you can pledge cash and I will forward it on.
